Patricia Cone Obituary

Obituary

Patricia Lynn Cone was born to the late Alice T. Lynah Cone and Madison W. Cone on July 30, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY. She was raised in North Babylon, NY with her siblings and attended the North Babylon School System. She attended St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip, NY and enlisted in the United States Army upon graduation.

Upon her return home from the military, she began a career as a customer service representative in the banking industry. She would end her banking career with Chase Manhattan Bank, Uniondale, NY. Patricia was very artistic, often painting, designing and decorating. She could make an object from the dollar store look like it was worth several hundred dollars. Her fashion sense was eclectic and worked for her, when it could never work for anybody else. She was also well known for her skill at event planning, and for a time, ran her own events catering business in Tulsa, OK.

Patricia was always personable, making friends whenever she went. She had a generous soul and would help anyone in need before helping herself. She was to give some of the best advice to others.  She was a free-spirited individual living life on her own terms, answering to no one. Patricia never sought to do harm to others, but always uplift.

For a few years, she resided in Greensboro, NC where she worked with her brother, Harold D. Cone in the outreach organization of Evangel Word Ministries, entitled Positive Direction for Youth and families. She touched so many lives through her work while living in North Carolina. While she was in Greensboro, she gave her heart to the Lord under the ministry of Bishop Otis and Barbara Lockett of Evangel World Ministries. Upon leaving Greensboro, she relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she attended Oral Roberts University for two and a half years. It was in Tulsa, OK, that she met her husband, Curtis Samuel. They would have two children together: Josiah Madison who preceded her in death and Alice Ciearra Rachel Cone-Samuel. Upon death of her Mother, Alice T. Cone in 2014, Patricia returned to New York, so that she could be closer to her father and daughter.

Patricia leaves to mourn one daughter, her father, siblings, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her deeply. Patricia never fully recovered from the loss of her mother Alice T. Cone and we are blessed to know that she is now at peace in her mother’s arm.
