Norma Bernette Evans, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Born with a love for adventure and a vibrant spirit, Norma found joy in traveling, whether it was setting sail on a cruise to explore new destinations or making memories at the casino, where she enjoyed the excitement and camaraderie. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, sharing laughter, love, and unforgettable moments together.

She is preceded in death by her husband John F. Evans, her parents Leroy and Flossie (Gunter) Davis, her two sons John F. Evans Jr. and Omar J. Evans.

She leaves behind her daughter Theresa M. Evans, her son Reid A. Evans Sr. (Nettie), Lillian Evans (daughter-in-law) sisters Lorraine Johnson, Pamela Davis, brothers George Davis, Jerry Davis (Victoria), grandchildren Latonya, John, Joya, Charity, Reid, Chantelle, Alyssa and Benjamin, (20) great-grandchildren and (10) great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Norma’s life will be held on Friday, February 21, at 10:00 AM at Elgin Funeral Home, located at 602 A St (Commerce St), Elgin, OK. A visitation will take place on Thursday, February 20, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Additionally, a service will be held at J. F. Goode Funeral Home 545 Albany Ave Amityville, NY 11701 on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM.

Norma’s love, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed but will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
