Obituary
The angel of God brought into this world a beautiful baby girl named Marilyn Levern Everette to the wonderful parents of the late John D. Everette, Sr. and Mertis Everette. She was born on November 24, 1958, in Miami, Florida. Marilyn departed this life on Monday, January 29, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, West Islip, New York. Marilyn was the fourth of six children. Her siblings were Brenda, Grace, Patricia, John D. Jr., and Darlean who –receded her in death.
Looking got s better life, the family relocated to Wyandanch, New York. Marilyn received her education in the Wyandanch and North Babylon School Districts.
At the tender age of sixteen Marilyn fell in love with the late Rev Barry W. Sexton. They married on August 14, 1975. From this union they were blessed with four children, three sons Barry, Vernon, Jasmine and one daughter Takenya. Marilyn raised her children and provided for them with the best that she had.
Marilyn received Christ as her Savior at the age of eighteen, at Ephesus, Seven Churches of God in Christ in Amityville, New York under the leadership or Bishop R. L. Williams. Ephesus is where Marilyn and her children received their early spiritual foundation. She was employed by Brunswick Hospital, Amityville, NY, in the Dietary Department.
Marilyn was a lover of life, she enjoyed shopping, going out to eat with family and friends. She also loved getting dressed up, road trips and traveling back to her roots in Florida.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory three sons, one daughter, twenty grand children, eight great grand children; her mother; three sisters; one brother; nephews, nieces, friends and loved ones.
