On April 1, 1952, the late Dennis and LonieNell Magee welcomed a remarkable baby girl, Laurine, into the world. Laurine was a strong-willed and independent child, admired by her mother for her spirited attitude and natural leadership qualities. She spent her early years in Prentiss, Mississippi, before her family relocated to Gulfport, Mississippi. In 1970, Laurine met Bobby Ray Newsome, and they were married shortly after. Laurine had three children: Terron Newsome, Yolanda Williams, and Jeremiah Magee. In 1978, Laurine relocated to Copiague, New York, where she continued to build a life centered on family and faith. Laurine devoted her life to Christ in 1974, joining Freewill Church of God in Christ in Gulfport, Mississippi, under the late Elder Robinson.
After moving to New York, she became a member of Crews Temple Church of God in Christ in Amityville under the late Elder Isaac Crews. Later, she joined Prayer Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Amityville under Bishop Walter C. Willie Jr., where she remained a faithful member. In 1980, Laurine attended Wilfred Beauty Academy, earning her cosmetology license and embarking on a career in the beauty industry.
