James Riley was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on December 13, 1952 to Blanche & James (JD) Riley. He was raised in a God fearing home surrounded by a host of brothers, sisters, and relatives. He was the gatekeeper that welcomed all who knocked at the door. The Most high God, Jesus Christ blessed James to be a man filled with kindness, humility, compassion, an amazing measure of patience and a dry wit matched by few. He could engage in conversation with anyone and make them laugh. James was passionate about the word of God. He loved children, music, westerns, sci-fi, and golf. James wasn't the type of man to verbally express his emotions, but he would express them in writing from his heart and showed them in his deeds.
In remembrance of him, he leaves behind his wife Valtrina, brother in-law Sterling Boyd, sisters Beverly Salley & Lanita Principal, special niece Ladonya Nelson, brothers Kenneth, Irving, Shane & wife Angela, nephew Michael and wife Nadine Salley, Arkeith Salley and a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and acquaintances. James touched many hearts along the way and will be missed by all.
To God be the Glory for the love and consoling support of the People of God, family, friends and his work family.
Your presence and thoughtfulness was heartfelt and truly appreciated.
In love, the family.
