Henry "Hank" James Campbell Obituary

Obituary

The presence of our Lord and Savior blessed us with an amazing person Henry “ Hank” James Campbell. Henry James Campbell was born on March 7, 1960 in Latta, South Carolina to James and Delores Campbell. Henry departed his life at this home on Tuesday, May 28, 1029.

As a child Henry was educated in the Amityville school district and later received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. Henry was baptized at an early age at St. John Baptist Church in Copiague, NY. He layer joined Kings Temple, Hempstead, NY. Years later he joined the Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, Amityville, NY under the leadership of Pastor Brown L. Davis.

In 2002, Henry decided that he wanted to become an entrepreneur and established Hen-Trye, Inc. he opened his first bingo game series in Amityville, NY in 2003 until management decided to sell the building six years later. Henry did not let this stop him from his dream. Many years later on November 7, 2015 Henry was back. He had opened another Bingo game series in Melville, NY and the Long Island Bingo Newspaper was so elated that they did not hesitate to advertise it. Henry was widely known and respected in the bingo industry.

Henry was very generous in many ways, always willing to give back to God and his surrounding communities. He was an active church member,. If you asked him to do anything with the church, he was there. Henry started a scholarship fund for prospective college students. He gave selflessly. A philanthropist in his own right, he donated to charities and many church organizations.

In 2009 Henry was employed with the Wyandanch Library where he worked diligently, also working part-time at Jake’s Casino part-time. In December 2018 he was elected associate of the month. If anyone knew Henry they knew that he loved to travel, international and domestic as well as playing Bingo and hitting the Casinos.

He leaves fond memories that will be treasured by his parents James and Delores Campbell; three brothers  and one sister, two aunts, two God sisters , three God sons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He will greatly be missed.
