Gloria L. Turner

Obituary

Gloria Loree Turner was born in Washington, Georgia on November 15, 1948 to Emmie and Charlie Turner. She was the second daughter of seven siblings.

At an early age she confessed Christ and Joined St. James Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She was educated at Wilkes County High School, later relocating to Far Rockaway, New York. Shortly after she found her career path as a certified nurse’s aide. Gloria enjoyed cooking mostly baking pies and cakes from scratch, shopping and bringing the family together for holiday dinners.

Gloria was a special mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin and friend. Although she was naturally a quiet person, all who knew her experienced her loving kindness and warm grace. Gloria words of wisdom were, “ Trust God, he will do it”. Gloria peacefully entered eternal rest on August 16, 2019 in West Islip, New York, surrounded by her family. She remained strong until the final decline of her strength.
