Obituary

Geneva Maddox, affectionately known as Gent was born on March 10, 1948 in Camphill, Alabama to Hettie Woody Maddox and Homer Maddox. Geneva attended school in Alabama. Geneva and Willie Grady, childhood sweethearts, migrated to New York, the eventually settled down in Farmingdale, NY. Geneva was a housekeeper at Massapequa General Hospital until the closing of their doors leaving her employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bethpage, NY, where she retired.

She enjoyed working, spending time with family and friends and cooking. On her days off from work her spiritual journey started with Grace Community Church where she enjoyed giving God glory.

Geneva Maddox leaves to cherish two sons, one daughter, eleven grandchildren, seven great grands and one on the way that she was overjoyed about, seven sisters, one brother, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends.
