Obituary
On April 20, 1941 in Halifax County, VA the late Taxie Harris celebrates the birth of her precious daughter Frances Eva.
Frances, an amazing mother, grandmother and friend was loved by everyone she met. The great love she had for her five (5) children led her to move and begin raising them in Copiague, New York. Frances loved serving the Lord. At an early age she confessed Christ as her Savior at the Hackberry Baptist Church in Sutherlin, VA. Frances was a faithful and dedicated member of the St. John’s Baptist Church of Copiague, New York where she served diligently on the Missionary Food Pantry, A SJBC Jewels, and holding the office of secretary for the Ushers and Nurses Ministry until her illness made her bed stricken.
Besides her children Frances had many accomplishments, she worked for Pilgrim State Phy., Center in Brentwood, New York for 19yrs. She had a natural passion for children as she often watched many. She was a true Mets fan, loved watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Shoot-em-ups (Westerns). She also had a love for flowers, salt & pepper shakers and elephants. Her signature saying as we all know and will remember “AMEN” and “Yes Ma’am”!
On April 26, 2018 at 11:15a.m. After a brief illness and being surrounded by her loving family, Frances was called on to her great reward. Being at home with the Lord and Savior and reuniting with her son Ernest and brothers Harry and Pete.
Frances touched many lives, she will always be loved and truly missed. She leaves to cherish these memories two sons, three daughters, seven grandchildren, a special sister, first cousins, four great grandchildren, loving family neighbors and friends and a wonderful church family.
