Ernestine L. Dancey

Ernestine L. Dancey was born on March 24, 1931 in Amityville, NY to Marguerite Dungey and Ernest Barrington and departed life on June 27, 2017 at her Farmingdale home.

Ernestine (Tini- her nickname used by her siblings) graduated from Amityville HS in 1949. Ernestine met and later married the late Richard B. Dancey in the summer of 1954 and together raised four children.

Prior to her retirement Ernestine worked for Brunswick Hospital/ Louden Hall as a nurse's aide. Throughout the years besides caring unselfishly for her children some of her hobbies included sewing, searching for the best recipes and coin collecting. Her favorite sport to watch on TV or listen to on the radio was baseball and she could match any player to their team. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought joy to her heart.

Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband, her son Richard M. Dancey, brothers Bruce Daniels and Gilbert Daniels.
