Obituary
Elmo Lawrence Bryan was born on August 26, 1941 in the Virgin Islands to the late Adina G. Genez and the late Basil Bryan, on September 20, the Lord called him home.
Elmo went from school into a life service as a Fireman in the Virgin Islands. He worked as a mechanic also on the fire trucks within the fire department. Elmo then came to New York as a mechanic in the Sanitation department.
Elmo stood true to the fireman’s pledge. He had a willingness to help those in need, and the courage to perform the duties to do the job.
Elmo brought that same spirit of giving, everywhere he went. Elmo had a genuine concern for others. He displayed the courage to share and endure the ordeal of those who needed him. He had the wisdom to lead, the compassion to comfort, and the love needed to unselfishly give, wherever whenever he was called to duty. In every aspect of his life whether he was facing a raging fire or working on sanitation trucks.
Elmo had a knack for understanding others and giving beyond the norm. He will be sorely missed, but always close to all of our hearts.
