Dennis Campbell Obituary

Obituary

Dennis M. Campbell was called home on Tuesday July 10, 2018, after a brave battle with Cancer.

Dennis was born on December 28, 1949 in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late John H. Campbell, Sr. and Edna M. Campbell. In 1955 Dennis moved to Long Island New York with both of his parents, and three brothers, Bill, Bunky and Jimmy. They all became a part of the Amityville Community.

Dennis was educated in the Copiague School District, and received his High School Diploma. Shortly after Dennis was drafted into the United States Army; which took him on tour through Germany. He served three years for our Country, and after returning back home, Dennis served in the United States Reserves.

Dennis married Andria on January 22, 2000, and from this Union three beautiful children, two sons and one daughter were born. Dennis Maurice, Jr., Johnathan Maurice, and Tisha Lorraine.

In Dennis lifetime he held many jobs that allowed him to work his ability to shine. At Fairchild, and Republic Aviation, Dennis was an assembly engineer. Town and Country, Dennis was the top Detailer of his division. At Pep Boys, he was the Parts Transporter; Dennis loved driving from location to location. Dennis was a dependable man; he did things his way and got the job done.

Dennis made friends wherever he went. He made it to every family and friends events that we all can remember. At the local Lodge is where we would see his dance moves. Dennis loved cars and the challenges that came with repairing them. Animals were also a great love of his. Dennis had pets such as birds, cats, dogs, fish and etc.…

Dennis loved children. He would say they kept him young, and he would say he seen new joy in their eyes. He made such an impression on not only his nieces and nephews, but on down to the great nieces and nephews. He earned so many unique nicknames such as Den Den, Short Man, Uncle Dennis, Spin Man, Little Brother, Daddy and God Daddy. If he were sitting here today he would tell all of us to “cut that noise out.” He was quite the character, and if you knew him then you know he always brought his own brand of humor with him.

Dennis attended churches and he especially loved to hear the church music playing that held him still long enough to hear the call of God over his life, and that call was the beginning of his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Dennis became a new member of New Hope Institutional Baptist Church in January.

Dennis leaves to smile and live on his two sons, and one daughter. His wife, his mother, his brothers, God daughter, beloved aunt a host of beloved Nieces and Nephews cousins and grand nieces and nephews.
