Betty Bryant

Obituary 

Betty Jo Murphy Bryant was called to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26, 2022. Born December 7, 1933 in Donalsonville, Georgia, Betty was one of two born to the late Mary Williams Murphy and Charlie B. Murphy. 

  As a young woman she attended St. John A.M.E. Church where she gave her life over to the Lord Jesus Christ. Betty met and married her late husband Elder Moses Bryant. In this union they welcomed nine children and three grandchildren. Stepchildren: (Deceased) Nazaree Bryant Grubbs and Moses Bryant Jr. 

  Never one to be idle, Betty was a prolific gardener. Each spring she would spend hours cultivating and seeding the ground to produce the most succulent vegetables. From her peach trees she made delicious peach cobblers. In her quiet times she enjoyed crossword puzzles, listening to gospel music, reading the Bible and spending time with her grandchildren. 

  Betty leaves to cherish her memory: Brother: Harry Brewer (Mary Brewer), Children: Buzzy Bryant (Renee Bryant), Mary Hubbard (Will Hubbard), Mozelle Cunningham (Arthur Cunningham), Willie Bryant, Barbara Bryant, Gloria Vanderpool (Brian Vanderpool), Elijah Bryant, Elizabeth Anthony, Katherine Bryant Hardy (Guy Hardy), Nephew: James Bryant (Diane Bryant). Grandchildren: Bonnie Mae Hamilton, Aisha Muharra ( Ben Epstein), Tomie Lewis (Ashley Lewis), Clarissa Vanderpool and a host of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
