Beaulah Roberson Obituary

Mother Beaulah Mae Roberson

September 16,1923- April 28,2022

Mother Beaulah Mae Roberson- This journey commenced on September 16, 1923, in Twiggs County, Georgia to the parents of Mr. Lemmon and Mrs. Annie Williams- Stephens. She departed this life Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 9:55pm, at Good Samaritan Hospital, in West Islip, New York.

Mother Roberson received her primary education through the Twiggs County Public School System. She was also home-schooled by her Sister-In-Law Mrs. Doreatha Williams. At an early age she joined the New Hope Baptist Church where she was active in several ministries as a youth.

Mother Roberson was the youngest of eight siblings. As a young girl her siblings spoiled her and kept her away from the cotton field because she would fill her bags of cotton with water to make it seem like she worked hard all day. Her oldest sister Irene (Big Ma) became the disciplinarian and surrogate Mother of the family when their mother passed away.

On February 3, 1946, Mother Roberson married her soul mate Deacon Minter James Roberson and they enjoyed 67 years of wedded bliss until his demise on December 21, 2013. From this union four children were born Roy, Annie, Cleveland & Jeffrey. In 1958 Minter and Beaulah relocated to Glen Cove, New York. After their relocation to New York, her sister Missionary Ellen Mason demanded Salvation and Sanctification as a lifestyle requirement, the Roberson family immediately began their fellowship with “60 Cottage Row” First Church of God in Christ, Glen Cove, NY, the late Elder Jasper Pettus, Pastor. During her fellowship at First Church of God in Christ she was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. The family later joined King’s Temple COGIC, Hempstead, NY, the late Dr. Joseph A King, Pastor. Mother Roberson sang in the Senior Choir, and she was a Sunday School teacher. Her favorite seat was on the front row where she had a unique style of worship. When the spirit of God filled the church Mother Roberson was known to express the power of God with her whole body, mind and soul.

The Roberson household at 6 Dartmouth Drive, Bay Shore, NY became “Grand Central Station” for family, neighborhood children and friends. Every parent in the neighborhood knew that their child was safe at the Roberson house because they knew that Mother Roberson was saved, sanctified and filled with the holy ghost. In 1981 Mother Roberson became the Church Mother of Unity Temple COGIC, Inc where her sons Jeffrey and Roy were Pastors.

Mother Roberson was a praying woman, a woman of great faith full of wisdom and courage. Her favorite sayings were “I Love Everybody” and “The Lord is so good” Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She loved to sing and worship the Lord, the last song she sung on her dying bed was “He’s Everything to me” then she uttered to her son “I’m on my way home”.
