The song is ended but the melody lingers on. Barbara Denise Howard Robinson was born on April12th, 1957 and passed away on October 15th, 2017.

She was born in Sumter, South Carolina by the late Cornelia Rivers Howard-Singleton and Levi Howard. She was the second oldest of four children. Her siblings are: The late Bryant (late), Gregory Howard, and Cathryn Howard.

Barbara was affectionately called Niecy by her friends and loved ones. She moved to Wyandanch, NY in 1967 and attended Wyandanch Memorial High School. In addition, she also attended the State University of New York at Brockport.

During April of 1979, Barbara met Henry Robinson III at National Bank of North America. On May 27th, 1989, Barbara married Henry. Together they had two children, Shaun and Kayla Robinson.

In August of 1997, Barbara and Henry brought their first home together in Deer Park, NY. She worked at the VA Medical Center for over 15 years. Barbara, was an active member of Shaw Temple AME Zion Church and Life member of the women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society.

Barbara was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of others. She was a people’s person and very outgoing.
Barbara was extremely dedicated to her children. She was the best Mom ever and made sure her children were always happy. Everything she did was for her children. She was a selfless woman who put the one’s she loved before herself.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Cornelia Rivers Howard-Singleton and father Levi Howard and brother, Bryant Howard. She is survived by her husband, Henry Robinson III, Her son, Shaun Robinson, daughter, Kayla Robinson, Stepson, Henry Robinson IV, brother, Gregory (Janice) Howard and sister, Cathryn Howard and niece, Brittany Liburd. In addition, two uncles, James (Geneva) Howard, Bridgeport, CT; and Lawrence Kershaw, Sumter, SC. Five aunts: Josephine (Marie) Callahan, Wyandanch, NY; Susan Howard, Wedgefield, SC, Patsy Rivers, Bernice Rivers and Wilimina Rivers, All of Dazell, SC; Mother in law, Mae Robinson, New York, NY and Sister in law, Delores Robinson, Westbury, NY and a host of cousins, friends and co-workers.
