Obituary

Andrea Elizabeth Mitchell was born to Alma Marie Benjamin and Cecil Herbert Benjamin Sr on September 17, 1956 at Harlem Hospital in Harlem, N.Y. She will forever have roots in Brooklyn.

Andrea Elizabeth attended school and graduated from Sarah J. Hale High School in Brooklyn. Andrea eventually decided to further her education; starting out at St. Joseph’s College and then obtaining her associates degree at Briarcliff College in 2006.

Shortly after the birth of her first three children, Andrea moved to Long Island, NY.

This is where she met her husband of 25 years, Leon Walter Brown, whom she married on October 3rd, 1993.

Andrea Elizabeth held various jobs since entering the work force, however the job Andrea exceled at and loved the most and retired from was her career in bankruptcy collections. Which she was able to do over the span of 20 years for various companies include Chase and Chemical Bank; just to name a few.

Andrea was a devoted mother to Erica, Eric, Derrick, and Ebony. She enjoyed her children immensely. Besides her love for 0her children she also loved church. Andrea was a huge New York Knicks, Giants and Yankee fan. She also enjoyed cooking, listening to music and playing instruments with her friends in the church band.

On Sunday, January 6, 2019 Andrea left us to be with the Lord.

Even in our sadness we know she is now free and resting.
