Obituary

Chanceford Fairfax Jr. (Knobby) was born July 5th, 1938 to the late Marion E. and Chanceford Fairfax Sr. at Meadowbrook Hospital, East Meadow New York.

Chanceford was raised in Westbury New York and educated in the Carle Place and Westbury School District.

As a child Chanceford accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended the AME Zion Church located on Grand Blvd. and Union Ave. in Westbury where his Grandfather served as Pastor.

As a young man he fell in love and married his beloved wife and forever “partner” Thestes Hackett.

He was employed by Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage NY and worked there for many years. His next employment was Westbury Union Free School District and he was promoted to Head Custodian. After retiring from the Westbury Union Free Schools he worked another (15) years at Darby Dental Supplies.

He enjoyed singing gospel songs with his wife, one of their favorite songs was by the Mighty Clouds of Joy “I’ve Got One Thing You Can’t Take Away.”

He also loved fishing and hunting with his brother in laws. He loved giving cook outs where everybody was welcome. He was helpful to all who needed a helping hand and he showed love to everyone.

Chanceford leaves to cherish with precious memories his wife, five children, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four sisters, six sister in law, six brother in law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors whom he loved like his own

He will truly be missed
