of

Cecelia D. Holt

Cecelia D. Holt was born July 4th, 1955 to the late Joseph Holt and the late Thelma (Holt) Kendrick. On August 23, 2108 at 5:56am God had called her home after a short period of illness.

Cecelia was born in Baltimore, Maryland where she attended Catholic school, then went to West Virginia to attend Job Corp to achieve her Nursing Degree. Afterwards she moved to New York where she worked many years at Pilgrim State Hospital and Suffolk County Developmental Center. Cecelia furthered her education studying criminal justice to start a new career as a correctional officer. In 1987 she worked at Riker’s Island Correctional Facility until retirement in 2007. She expanded her career as a paralegal and medical assistant.

Cecelia was active in her church, In the word Ministries under the direction of Pastor Doctor Thomas F. Tolliver. She served in the pastor aide community, hospitality community, youth community and also sang in the church choir.

During Cecelia’s journey of life she built a strong foundation of family. Leaving behind daughters Deona Wills, Kim Holt-Henderson and Shernita Rivers. Cecelia was a small woman with a big heart that has the personality that can light up a room. Family and many friends loved her. She will truly be missed and we will carry great memories throughout our lives.

Unfortunately on her journey of life she also lost love ones. Brothers Harold Holt, Gilbert Holt and Robert Holt, Step-sister Penny Kendrick daughter Nikita Sutton and grandson Peter Tomlin, Jr.
