Bernadette Alexandre
Bernadette Alexandre affectionately known as “Dette” was born on January 30, 1933 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the late Louis and Soimise Alexandre. She was number ten of thirteen children.
Upon completing her studies she met Raymond Saint Preux and was married in 1956. Bernadette was blessed with six children. In 1982 she migrated to the United States and settled in Westbury, New York. She worked at Uniflex Factory for five years.
Bernadette loved to cook, clean and enjoyed the companionship of people. She would sacrifice herself for others. Most of the time she looked serious, but she was ready to have a joyous laugh and loved to smile. Dette loved to take pictures, dress up in style; everything had to match and of course she could not be without one of her many hats.
As child of God, Dette always had her bible and loved to hear the word; she raised her family in the church and took pleasure in their faith. Bernadette put others first. She would die for her children, those she knew and was especially proud of her grand children.
She leaves to cherish her memory 6 children, Serge (Yanick) of Westbury, NY, Evans (Rose Marie) of Pennsylvania, Franck (Marcia) of Amityville, NY, Roosevelt (Mary Laure) of Pennsylvania, Rony (Marjorie) of Pennsylvania, and Emilie of Virginia. One beloved sister Louise Alleyne, , 25 Grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends.
